The line was formed by fusing BALB/c spleen cells (from mouse immunized with sheep RBCs) with the P3X63Ag8 myeloma. [1077]
The cells do not secrete immunoglobulin, are resistant to 8-azaguanine at 20 mcg/ml and are HAT sensitive. [1077]
Sp2/0-Ag14 cells can be used as fusion partners for B cells in the production of hybridomas. [906]
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |

ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Maintain cell density between 5 X 10 (4) and 5 X 10 (5) viable cells/ml. Some cells can attach and be transferred by shaking them loose.
